OpenBot 0.25.2
New
- Every member of a joined server can import agents from Grok Bot, not only the owner of the computer. Open Server settings โ Import on a joined server in the desktop app or the browser client. The export must be a .zip under 100 MB. When the server already has a skill of the export, the agent of a member uses that skill and the import says so.
- The host keeps the Lock Screen activity of a joined iPhone current while iOS stops the OpenBot app in the background. It encrypts each update for that phone before it goes through the OpenBot account service and Apple, so neither can read it. The host keeps the phone's push token in memory only, for the session that gave it.
- Enter a promotion code on the payment page when you start a plan for a hosted server.
- Connect an AI provider before you make the first agent on a server that you own or manage. Before, a new server opened on the agent form with no provider connected.
- Sign a server in to Claude and Grok from your own device, when the server has no browser that you can see, such as a hosted server. Claude shows a code on its page that you paste into OpenBot.
- Connect GitHub in Server settings > Connectors. Every agent on this computer then gets the GitHub tools, and
ghandgitsign in as you, in the repositories where you install the OpenBot GitHub App. The panel lists these repositories. You do not need a personal access token. - In the repositories where you can push, GitHub shows the issues, pull requests and comments that an agent makes with the GitHub tools as
openbotgit[bot], not as you. OpenBot gets short-lived tokens for this from the OpenBot account service, which keeps no token.ghstill acts as you. - Use remote desktop on a Linux x64 host in an X11 session, including a hosted server. Wayland is not supported.
- On a hosted server, remote desktop shows the full server desktop with its window manager, so a click moves between windows.
Improved
- In a dev or preview build, the OpenBot logo on the Dynamic Island has the color of that build, as the Dock icon does. Two OpenBot apps that are open at the same time are easier to tell apart.
- Show a new loading screen in the browser app: a small crew of agents hops while OpenBot loads, and jumps out when it is ready.
- Show the OpenBot logo while the desktop app starts, and fade it out when the app is ready.
- Show how long the agent's activity line has stayed the same when it stays for more than 5 seconds, so a slow step no longer looks like a stopped agent.
- Show "Using an app on this computerโฆ" while a Computer Use action runs, and "Deciding the next step in the appโฆ" while the model chooses the next one. Before, both showed a general tool text.
- Tell agents to go directly to the named application and action with Computer Use, without listing other applications or reading the same window again.
- Log the time that the Computer Use driver takes to answer each call, and each call that gets no answer, so a slow step shows whether the driver or the model used the time.
Fixed
- The logo color of a dev or preview build matches its app icon. Before, the logo in the app was orange or bright green, and the app icon was gold or soft green.
- A Grok agent answers again after you sign in to Grok with a different account or change the xAI API key. Before, each message in an earlier chat failed with "reasoning
encrypted_contentwas not issued to this caller". Now OpenBot starts a new Grok session that keeps the chat history, and sends your message again. - On Windows at a display scale other than 100%, the Computer Use border goes around the full window. Before, only the top and left edges were on the screen.
- The Computer Use border stays on the window while the agent thinks between two steps, and goes away when the turn ends, fails, or is cancelled.
- When an OpenCode model request fails, the error tells why: a rate limit, a billing problem with the provider account, a failure on the provider's side, or no network connection. Each error tells you what to do, and whether waiting helps. Before, every cause showed as "Internal error:" followed by the provider's text (#1163).
